What should I/we wear for our photo session?
Deciding what to wear for your photo session can be the biggest frustration of all, but it doesn’t have to be! I’ve created a guide based on what I have experienced along the way. As always, we want the focus to remain on you and your family within the photo.
*Colors: Stay away from any super bright florescent colors. They tend to throw color casts on faces, necks and even hair! If your session is outdoors at a grassy/wooden location, stray away from green as a primary color. These areas already provide the greens necessary in the photo and if you wear mostly green, you may just blend in!
*One step at a time: Start with one outfit that you love and coordinate the other outfits around it. Remember to coordinate colors rather than completely match them. I recommend choosing three coordinating colors and adding a color pop with an accent item (hat, scarf, necklaces).
*Wear what makes you feel good. If you’re uncomfortable in an outfit, it just may reflect in your photos. So it’s important to wear what you love. For example, I’m in no way shape or form accustomed to heels. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever worn them. Not even on my wedding day. So I would choose some cute boots, ballet flats or even dressy sandals. But hey, if you can work it in some heels, by all means, do it!!
*Children always look best in the simplest of clothing. Character or logo clothing can be extremely distracting in photos and may not go with different backgrounds and settings.
*Newborn sessions: These are a different ballgame. Neutral colors are best. I provide a guide for all newborn sessions. Be sure to check out the “what to wear” in the guide for that particular session.
How long will it take to get my images back?
It takes about 2 weeks to get your professionally retouched and edited images delivered to you. Please allow 3 weeks for the fall season. If you need them in a rush, please email me! Allow 6-8 weeks for weddings.
How does “digital download” work?
Digital download is the fastest way to receive your images. You will receive an email stating that your images are ready for download and they will download straight to your computer!! You get your images the same day I finish them! You will be emailed a link saying your images are ready to download. If you wish to have a CD instead, it’s $10.
Do you schedule sessions on the weekend?
Saturday and Sunday are my most popular days. They book fast! If you need a weekend spot, it’s best to book early.
How often do you host mini sessions?
I hold family mini session events 2 times a year. They’re so fun and perfect if you just need a few images to update your walls!
Holiday mini sessions will be held based on demand.
What time of day do sessions take place?
Newborn and studio sessions generally take place during the day. All outdoor sessions will take place in the evening 1-2 hours before sunset.
It says newborn sessions are 2-4 hours long. Why do they take so long?
Newborn sessions require a lot of feeding/soothing. The baby needs to be completely asleep for certain poses. Don’t worry, if baby is awake, we get some awake shots to!
I have a TV with a comfortable sitting area, a variety of toys for little ones as well as snacks and drinks to help pass the time!
How do I pay the deposit and when is it due?
The deposit is due within 24 hours of booking your session time.
